Looking at project failure

We all know that many IT projects fail, or at least are no where near as successful as they should be.

The www.bcs.org.uk have undertaken a study in this area and have produced some fact based information. It is sobering reading given the amount of time and energy that many thousands of IT professionals have put into those projects as well as the many millions (billions?) of pounds sterling that have been invested.
The report is well worth a read. Keep it handy next time you are asked to deliver an inappropriate architecture, there are insufficient requirements, the requirements change, the customer is not engaged ........
