What would you like to see on the site?
Hi and thanks for coming by.
I started this site several months ago with a few different objectives in mind. The first was to just give it a go and try to learn a little. This was partly about the technology but mainly about the content. I spend much of my time writing documents of one type or another but wanted to see what it was like to produce something in this form.
The other main objective was to produce something that might be useful to other IT professionals; mainly IT Architects but also anyone else involved in delivering business solutions.
Well a few months later and a couple of hundred visitors later, you can see the results.
The lessons? Well firstly this is harder than most bloggers make it look. Mainly the time it takes to think up and create content. I'm not good enough to knock up a quick post with wit and insight in two minutes flat (if at all!). As a result the rate of postings is much less than I was hoping for but practice makes perfect so I'll keep working on it. This exercise also serves to remind us how much information is out there and how much work is needed to make sense of it(by the way if you are interested the technology, Drupal, is working well but that is a topic in its own right).
So the point of this post is to ask you what you would like to see here. If you have just stumbled across the site and seen something useful, please let me know. If you were looking for something and it wasn't here or not quite what you were looking for, again please let me know. If there is something you would like to know about I'll see what I can do about it.
Any comments, good, bad or ugly, are welcome. Please either leave them as a comment to this entry or e-mail me at info@conceptech.co.uk
Thanks
Jon

Hi Jon,
Regarding blogging, it is harder than it looks. Speaking personally, before I submit something to my own blog the sort of questions that go through my mind are mainly, is the content blog-worthy ?. Secondly, what greater minds than mine in my particular area of expertise are out there that might pick holes in my content, by blogging you are submitting material to the biggest audience there is, i.e. the internet.
As for content that might be interesting here are some suggestions:-
1. Blogs and internet sites you use
2. A posting on resources you consider essential to your field of expertise
3. How about a series of articles on you perceive as the fundamental basics of being an architect
4. Presentations, I have have posted some to my own blog via slideshare.net .
5. Commentary on some of the views of the more colourful characters and luminaries in the field of architecture and design, Martin Fowler to name but one.
6. Postings on industry trends and where you see things going
